Walter Dix (born January 31, 1986) is an American
sprinter and the reigning 100m and 200m US national champion. Walter
attended university at Florida State where he won six Division I titles,
including three outdoor 200m titles.
He graduated in 2008 with a degree in
Social Science. He is the son of Washington and Plinnie Dix. His father, a
former sprinter, is an assistant principal and track coach at New River Middle
School, while his mother is a high school teacher.
