Celebrate. Spectate. Participate.
The Edmonton International Athletics Festival is an annual celebration of sport, culture and healthy active living in the City of Edmonton, Alberta!
Athletics Alberta is extremely proud to produce the Edmonton International Athletics Festival, which is dedicated to providing an educational and sporting environment for competitive and non-competitive athletes, spectators and volunteers. This festival showcases the sport of track & field athletics to all those whom live in the City of Edmonton and around the Alberta Capital City Region and is for all ages & abilities.
This annual festival is strategically developed to showcase the Edmonton International Track Classic (EITC), formally know as the Donovan Bailey Invitational in 2012, as Canada’s premier international track & field competition. Ranked Top 40 of 701 international one day/ invitational IAAF competitions, the EITC is being strategically positioned to be become North America’s only IAAF World Challenge Series competition in the near future. To date, the EIAF is the only track & field festival being produced in North America.
More importantly, the EIAF provides grassroots athletic programming for our youth in Edmonton during the months of May & June 2013. This Athletics Alberta initiative delivers outreach community programming to over 10,000 school-aged children and empowers "healthy active living" programming via organized sport delivery throughout the City of Edmonton.
In 2013, we encourage you to cheer for your Canadian athletes at the Edmonton International Track Classic as they compete against the best in the World, Run or walk a mile in the Blue Mile Road Race on Whyte Avenue, or support our local youth as they pursue fun & fitness at the Hershey’s Track & Field Games and the Little Big Run.
So we welcome you... to get involved & be a part of the action!
